How do I know if I am a candidate?
Most motivated patients over 50 make for great RLE candidates! You will need to pass certain baseline requirements, like having a stable vision prescription and good eye health. You can take a self-test here, or you can set up a free consultation to explore your case further here.
The Day of Your RLE Procedure
While your entire RLE outpatient procedure appointment will take a couple of hours, the procedure itself only takes around 20 minutes or less. Each eye will require its own appointment scheduled a few weeks apart, but both are brief.
Will I Feel Any Pain During the Procedure?
No! Your eyes are numb prior to your procedure, so you shouldn’t feel any pain during the procedure. All you can expect to feel is slight pressure.
What Does RLE Recovery Look Like?
Patients can expect a relatively quick recovery period, with many experiencing significant improvements in their vision within a few days, although complete healing and final vision stabilization may take longer.
Can I have RLE even if I have had LASIK in the past?
Yes! RLE replaces your eye’s natural lens with an artificial one. That means this procedure is for the inside of the eye. Meanwhile, LASIK reshapes the outside (more specifically, the front) of the eye. Neither procedure should affect your ability to receive the other.
Will RLE Enhance My Vision?
RLE isn’t only about freeing you from glasses and contacts. It’s also about you being able to check your phone without readers, read menus in dim restaurants, drive at night — it’s about seeing when you need to, without thinking twice about it. It’s about getting to live in the moment again.
